The mountains that surround La Salle and that are part of its territory aren't very high. They are however, particular and create a very varied and interesting ring of mountains.

The "Paramont"

North west, lies the Grande Rochère, that with its 3326m of height acts as look out and shields against the northern wind that blows upon the tops of Planaval and Chambave. It is possible to reach the top of the Grande Rochère by climbing up the rocky and steep mountain sides (from which the name Gran Rotzée in the patois dialect originates) after a long easy walk and after having crossed the bowls of Planaval and Bonalé. You can see the plains and Turin from here if it is a nice day.

It is La Salle's highest mountain on the orographical left hand side of the River Dora. However, because of it being south-facing, its snow fields can't supply the water needed to irrigate the big hill's countrysides and plains for the entire season.

The following peaks surround the Grand Rochère: L'Aiguille di Chambave (3067m), l'Aiguille di Bonalé (3201m), l'Aiguille di Malatrà (3141m), l'Aiguille di Artanavaz (3071m), l'Aiguille del Gran Créton (3071 m) and l'Aiguille del Creton de midi (2945 m). These summits separate the lands of Morgex, La Salle and Bosses from Courmayeur's Ferret Valley.

On the orographical right hand side of the Dora, in front of the Grand Rochère and at the end of the Lazey deep valley, lies the Paramont (in the patois dialect, Proumoù) that is part of the massive Ruitor glacier. Its summit almost reaches 3300m in height as it emerges white and rounded from Envers' black forest. Its sides are covered by a thick layer of perennial snow that fuels the springs of the Lenteney torrent. The Paramont is surrounded by many lower montain tops: Monghette (3043 m), Lussé (3055 m) and further away, Becca Poignenta (2827 m) that overlooks the plains of Morgex and La Salle. The whole of the Valdigne can be seen from here, thanks to its central position.

Lower down, you find the Croix du Foillet (2293m). In Philibert Arnod's report, one can read that “in 1694, the crossings of Aosta's entire Diocese (1691-1694) were fortified by rock dykes that went from the River Dora up to the top of Mount Gabriel”. (quote taken from the Archivium aug. I – 1968).

We cannot not mention less important peaks like Testa di Serena (2830m), Testa dei Fra (2818m), Falita Point (2623m) and the Court di Bard (2261m) that define the borders with the Vertosan Valley above Avise. In the Envers area, instead, we must not forget the Tignet Tower (2976m) on the border with Avise, Mount Valletta (2523m), Mount Broillat (2357m) and Chanté Colmet (2427m) situated in the deep valley above Lazey.
