Ecours (1086m) / Ecahrlod (1010m) / Vedun (1525m) – 2 hrs
From Ecours, follow the trail that leads to a crossroads, for five minutes. Continue on the right along a paved road that brings you to Echarlod and then up to the village of Moras. Proceed until you reach a waterfall called Eve's Sea, here you will also find a farm, and then carry on till you come to the first bend. This is where the easy downhill trail leading into a pine wood begins. Several wide hairpin bends take you up high above rocks that overtop the hamlet of Derby. The path then continues moderately with many ups and downs, taking you to the mule track that guides you with no mistake, straight to Vedun.
Charvaz (1512m) / Col-de-Bard (2202m) – 2 hrs 30 mins
Follow the mule track from the Charvaz Chapel that takes you to the edge of the forest. Turn left and continue until you reach the top of Mount Charvaz, where the actual trail begins. The upward climb is quite steep. Once you reach an alongside spring, veer to the right and carry on along the slight up and down path. You will then come to a clearing with no trees. Continue walking up for 50m and you will find yourself in front of a plain. Keep on going towards the right and you will arrive at Col-de-Bard.
Ecours (1026m) / Charvaz (1512m) / Vedun (1525m) – 3 hrs
The first part of the trail coincides with route number 1: Ecours / Echarlod / Vedun. The path unfolds through the houses of Fenêtre and clambers up through pine woods and xerothermic vegetation, following the ancient mule track that unwinds through series of stone walls and trees. At this point you have reached the deep valley furrowed by the Charvaz torrent. Once you've crossed the torrent, you start to ascend into the woods along a well beaten trail that becomes less accessible amongst the ups and downs of the track, before reaching Montagnoulaz. Beyond the chalets, the trail becomes a track and climbs up the steep slope to finally reach a rocky passageway. Moving diagonally, you cross a canal where the trail is covered by the debris of a landslide. Beyond the trellis you find yourself along a flat track that leads you to the piste that comes from Vedun. The trail then intersects route numer 1 Ecours / Echarlod / Vedun.
Challancin (1610m) / Col-de-Bard (2202m) / Col Fetita (2557m) – 3 hrs 30 mins
Walk up along the paved farm road up to the second hairpin bend. After about a kilometre, take the rather steep path you find on your right. Carry on till you come to the farm that brings you to the Arpilles chalets. From here, take the path that crosses a torrent and that acends slightly along a deforested area. Continue along here and then go towards the right until you reach Col-de-Bard. From here you then go back up a grassy slope along a path up to the Boromein pass and the Fetita Peak. Col Fetita is reached by crossing grassy and steep slopes.
Ecours (1086m) / Challancin (1610m) – 1 hr 30 mins
The trail begins in Ecours and follows the hard-surfaced road that leads to the village of Prarion. Take the old mule track pf the La Salle hill that after a few hundred metres, just after the mill, branches off. Turn right to proceed up to Arbetey; continue along Chez-les Coccoz and pass by the village on the left to reach Challancin.
Challancin (1610m) / Les Ors-Desot (2100m) / Col Fetita – 2 hrs 45 mins
The first part of the trail coincides with route no.2 Challancin / Col-de-Bard / Col Fetita. At the crossroads that takes you to Arpilles, you will find the sign that indicates the way to route no. 2 leading to Les Ors-Desot. The route that follows the farm road is long but relaxing. The road track passes alongside chalets that find themselves between woods and alpine praries. At the foot of Hôpitaux, leave the road to then take the lane on the right that begins beneath a rocky mountainside.
The trail passes behind houses and climbs up into the woods : within a short amount of time you will reach the farm road once again, after having come across the route indicated as no.3 and no.101, coming from Morgex and Planaval. Continue along the farm road and you will reach an alpine pasture called Les Tramails-des-Ors that is found near the pass.
Challancin (1610m) / Morge (1639m) – 30 mins

From Challancin's little church, continue along the paved road up to the bend. Carry on along the old mule track, that after having crossed a meadow, leads on into the woods accompanied by an adjacent stream. Once out of the woods, continue walking along part of the farm road you find yourself upon. Walk downhill along some meadows and you will then arrive at the village of Morge.
Challancin (1650m) / Charvaz (1512m) – 50 mins
Beyond the hamlet of Challancin, near a no thoroughfare sign, lies the beginning of a farm track that decends slightly along meadows, covering a distance of 600m. An uphill slope then takes you to the crossing of a torrent from which the path that passes over the top of Mount Charvaz branches off. After several ups and downs, the trail comes to a crossroads indicating route no.1 A that takes you to Col-de Bard (1750m). The path then comes to an end as you pass through the fields of Charvaz. You will therefore have to descend towards the left, crossing the pastures until you reach the ruins of an old building. From here you can see the ancient mule track that leads you to the village of Charvaz. To get back to Challancin, it's best if you go by the way you came from.
Morge (1630m) / Col Fetita (2557m) – 3 hrs 15 mins
Inter-Valley Trail no. 101 from Morge to Col Fetita
The trail begins at the crossroads between the paved and the dirt road leading to Pré-de-Thoulaz. After a few metres, turn left and follow the old and easy path that goes up into the woods. Continue along it until you roughly reach a height of 1850m, where you will come across a farm road coming from Challancin and that goes towards the alpine pasture of Les Ors. The trail then coincides with route no.2a up until Col Fetita.
Planaval (1750m) / Col Fetita (2557m) – 3 hrs 30 mins
Follow the trail from Planaval to Col Serena (route no. 6) right down to the chalets of Rantin. Here you find a sign indicating route no.3 that takes you towards the alpine pasture of Tramail-des-Ors. Carry on from here and you will reach Col Fetita.
La Clusaz (931m) / Villair Morgex (975m) – 45 mins
From the village of La Clusaz, the trail follows a flat path that runs alongside the Colombaz stream. The path ends in a slight descending track near an old mill situated in the village, Villair of Morgex.
La Clusaz (931m) / Château (1158m) – 1 hr 15 mins
The trail, that branches off from route no.5, goes back up the slope diagonally and reaches Châtelard. It then continues on the left along the farm road that takes you to Château, where the ruins of an ancient castle lie.
Planaval (1750m) / Col Serena (2547m) – 2 hrs 30 mins
Take the farm road that ascends through hazelnut trees and alders from the little village of Planaval, until you reach the chalets of Rantin (2400m). Then go uphill towards the right, along the tracks that lead you to a tableland that stretches out above you and continue going right till you get to Col Serena. To descend, go back the way you went up.
Planaval (1750m) / Bonalé (2340m) – 2 hrs 15 mins
From the small village of Planaval, descend for a short distance until you reach a bridge that you must cross. From here, it is best if you follow the track on the right that brings you to the alpine pasture of Les Ecoules. Carry on walking through the deep valley characterised by stones and bushes, to then walk up a steep path that runs along the torrent on the right. The path is well marked and ends, after many bends, on the crag near the chalets of Bonalé that are now reduced to ruins. To get back to Planaval, you can follow the farm road that goes from Bonalé to Rantin along a very long and dusty slope.
Morge (1630m) / Colle Battiglione Aosta (2882m) – 4 hrs 45 mins
Not far beyond the village of Morge, leave your car in the big car park you find there. Proceed along the road for 100m till you get to the bend and walk up the slope till you reach the chalets of Plan-Belle-Crête. Take the farm road on the right that brings you down to the chalets of Piginière. Continue on the right along the path that goes up slightly into the woods. A short uphill track runs alongside the ravine that is formed by the Colobma torrent up to the waterway of the combe of Chabave. From the crossoroads that take you to Liconi, the piste then becomes a path and it is here that the uphill ascent through the conifer forest of the deep valley of Chambave begins. The path then continues diagonally to the grassy slope found on the orographical left hand side of the deep valley. If you carry on going uphill, you will reach the foot of Grand-Plan (2192m) , situated in the middle of the valley. Walking through prairies and stony grounds, you will reach the bottom of Colle Battaglione Aosta. After having crossed the Chambave torrent, go up along a very nice and easy path that zig zags its way to the Colle (hill) upon a grassy slope. A difficult descent, passing through the deep valley of Arminaz, can bring you to Val Ferret (Ferret Valley).
Morge (1625m / Lake Liconi (2555m) / Colle Liconi (2674m) – 4 hrs 15 mins
Follow route no. 20 till you reach the waterway that you have to cross in the easiest point and then continue towards the left. You will pass the chalets of Villotte to then reach the farm road that takes you to Liconi. From here, the mule track goes up straight to the alpine pasture situated in a village called Crotte and continues alongside the lake's waterfall with a few sharp hairpin bends. Cross a stream and carry on towards the right by taking one of the many paths that unwind alongside the lake. You then gradually acsend to Colle Liconi (hill). You can descend towards Courmayeur by passing through the Sapin Valley.
Villarisson (1317m) / Plan-Belle-Crête (1689m)
The trail begins in the village of Villarisson. At first, it is flat and then gradually goes uphill along the crag, bringing you, near a small chapel, to the path that comes from Grasset. After having walked a bit in the woods, the trail opens out on to the fields of Plan-Belle-Crête.
Grassey (1480m) / Plan-Belle-Crête (1689m): in a narrow street of the village of Grassey, you will find a sign indicating the way to Morge. The path goes up through meadows to then take you slightly along the crag of Belle-Crête until you reach the woods near a little chapel. After coming across many paths, you then arrive at Plan-Belle-Crête.
La Joux (1625m) / Promoud (2018m) / Passo Alto (2960m) – 3 hrs 45 mins
Inter-Valley Trail no. 100 from La Joux / Promoud / Passo Alto
The intinerary begins at the La Joux bridge and follows the farm road to Montagna Alta (High Mountain) up to the bridge that crosses the Lenteney torrent, where on the left you will find the beginning of the mule track that goes towards the alpine pasture of Promoud. The track continues on the left of the torrent up to the tree trunk bridge that enables you to reach the alpine pasture. The path continues along the alpine prairie and then starts to ascend amongst sparse larches. Once you have crossed the last plain, you will then reach the stony grounds that brings you to Passo Alto (the Alto Pass). The pass offers excellent panoramic views of all the mountains east of the Aosta Valley, Mount Cervino and the group of Mount Rosa. To descend, continue on to La Thuile passing by the Des Feyes après-ski mountain chalet.
La Joux (1625m) / Croix-de-Foillet (1625m) – 2 hrs 30 mins
The path climbs up through a conifer forest beyond La Joux, reaching a height of 1950m. The trail branches off route no. 20 leading to the Ameran Pass shortly after a spring. Carry on walking along a rather steep uphill slope on the right until you reach Croix-de-Foillet (the Foillet Cross).
Chabodey (577m) / Lazey (1519m) – 1 hr 30 mins
The trail begins in an area called La Pera (The Pear) along a tarmacked road that you can drive along for a few kilometres. The road then becomes a farm road and after a hundred or so metres, the real path leading into the woods then begins. The slightly uphill track carries on along severel hairpin bends bringing you to the village of Lazey. From here, a short distance along the farm road takes you to the old path that leads you uphill to the Lenteney bridge, located in La Joux.
Derby (850m) /Lazey (1519m) – 2 hrs 50 mins
The route, that begins behind the church of Derby, leads towards Chez-Les-Gontier where the path that is just outside the village, continues on to Dailley. After the second connection of the aqueduct, the path continues steep uphill into the woods, crossing several pistes used for sliding cut down trees downhill. Just over half way up the slope, the track is deviated on to a sliding piste. The last leg of the trail, just before crossing the farm road in Dailley, has been restored and signposted at the base of a spruce pine tree. The intinerary proceeds along the farm road to Larzey.
La Joux (1625m) / Tillac (1838m) – 1 hr 15 mins
A short piste in the forest branches off from the farm road that leads to Val-du-Fond. At the end of the piste, you will find a restored path that climbs up into the pine forest along hairpin bends. At a height of 1750m, the restoration works end and the path conitues diagonally into a thick blueberry underwood that brings you out on to the meadows of Tillac. From here, the path then brings you downhill for about 100 m, leading you to some chalets.
Derby (828m / Planchamp (1460m) – 2 hrs
Uphill from the village of Derby, near a monumental chestnut tree, begins the path that ascends on the left for roughly 15 minutes. It gradually gets steeper and steeper as it clambers up along several hairpin bends and finally reaches a crossoroads. Turn right and carry on through the thick conifer forest. The trail ends at Planchamp. If you continue along the farm road you will come to route no.1 that takes you from Chez-Les-Gonthier to Larzey.
